Hays Travel postpones homeworker and PTC conference

Hays Travel has postponed its homeworkers and personal travel consultants conference, which was due to take place in Tenerife later this month.
It said the decision had been taken so that its teams can focus solely on their customers and bookings ‘during the constantly changing environment’.
In a statement, Hays added: “As developments regarding coronavirus are changing so frequently at the current time our homeworkers feel they need to be on hand to offer reassurance, support and guidance to their customers.”
It said the decision to postpone the conference had been taken after careful consideration and consultation with homeworkers and PTCs.
It has not decided on when to reschedule the conference, which will be assessed at a later date.
Meanwhile CLIA says it is still planning to go ahead with its three-day annual cruise conference, which is due to be held in Southampton from April 26. The conference, which is the biggest gathering of travel agents in the UK, includes visits to two cruise ships, P&O’s Britannia and MSC’s Meraviglia.
