B2B travel technology provider CarTrawler has signed an exclusive deal to become easyJet’s online car rental provider for the next four years.
CarTrawler said the partnership would enable easyJet to expand its car rental offering to a broader range of customers with more choice across destinations, rentals and providers.
Its technology has been integrated into the easyJet website, providing an improved customer experience, it added.
However, easyJet will retain Europcar as its media partner through a tri-partnership with CarTrawler that sees Europcar advertising promoted to passengers across easyJet touchpoints both on and offline.
CarTrawler said the deal was a highly competitive tender involving some of the biggest names in travel tech globally.
Chief commercial officer Aileen McCormack said: “This new partnership is the biggest deal we have signed in the past four years. It underlines the scale and pace at which CarTrawler is operating, and is fantastic news for the millions of customers who fly with easyJet each year.”
