The atmosphere at many Vegas gay clubs and bars tends to be welcoming and relaxed, and the drinks are usually strong and inexpensive. You’ll find an abundance of “dive bar” experiences, plus one pool party on the Strip – Temptation Sundays at the Luxor – and several fun spots in between.
Off the strip, there are several gay bars, clubs and lounges, with a concentration in what’s often called the Fruit Loop District on Paradise Road. FreeZone, Quadz Video Bar and Piranha Nightclub–each with a distinctly different style–are found here, among other LGBTQ-friendly options.
At The Phoenix on West Charleston, the vibe is inviting and energetic and includes loads of entertainment. Drag shows and karaoke are popular here, along with a host of serious drink specials and a variety of games, like darts, pool, and trivia.
For those looking for a predominately male clientele, Las Vegas has plenty of cowboy-themed gay bars and one with a car theme, The Garage, where you’ll find drink specials, bar games and regular events.

Spotlight Lounge is a new gay bar in the Commercial Center shopping area located not far from the Strip. Open 24/7, Spotlight offers daily and nightly drink specials at great prices, six 50″ flat-screen TVs and free Wifi. Daily drink specials include two for one well drinks and bottled beer from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Tuesday, get Jose Cuervo Gold shots for $3, on Wednesday drink Jagermeister shots for $3, enjoy an $8 draft beer bust on Thursday, on Friday have a $6 Long Island Ice Tea and on Saturday enjoy Jack Daniel’s or Absolut for $5. This two-level gay club is a Las Vegas favorite. Piranha is a chic, high-energy dance club with beautiful go-go boys, a lavish VIP area popular among celebs, skyboxes offering spectacular views of the writhing dance floor and a breathtaking outdoor patio with fireplaces, plush seating and a walk-through aquarium of piranhas (naturally). The attractively designed space is luxurious and modern, with video screens and a small dance floor. The second floor overlooks the dance floor, so guests can take a break from dancing to simply check out the crowdâ”and Piranha is well-known for having some of the best-looking clientele. Flex Cocktail Lounge has been around for or more than 20 years and has maintained its status as an easy-going place to stop for drinks and entertainment. With a location not too far off the Strip, Flex offers guests a relaxing bar/dance club to unwind in, free nightly entertainment, strong but inexpensive drinks, a game room and loose slots. This is a great place to see a drag show or decide to try out your singing chops with some karaoke. Often described as having a dive bar ambiance, but in a good way, Flex is a friendly local spot with an abundance of special events and drink deals.

The Badlands exterior makes it hard to miss. The Western-themed decoration is easy to spot when you’re looking for this popular country-themed gay bar. Inside, you’ll find the usual bar games, like pool tables, darts, video poker and shuffleboard. Badlands is known for cheap drinks and fun events, like The Hump Day Karaoke on Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. or the Saturday night beer bust from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with all you can drink domestics for $10 and imports for $15. The combination of affordable drinks and entertainment has been a winner for Badlands Saloon, which has been in business for 22+ years.

Located in the Paradise Fruit Loop district, QuadZ has a dive bar ambiance that goes along with cheap drinks and a welcoming, casual crowd. There’s a jukebox instead of a DJ, and the clientele includes a lot of regulars. Relaxed, friendly bartenders are happy to mix up the drink of your choice, and whatever your poison, it will be affordable. QuadZ advertises “some of the best and strongest drinks at some of the lowest prices Gay Vegas has to offer.”All the usual bar games are here, like pool, darts, video poker, arcade games. DJs take requests and play music videos on the 7 60+ inch HD TVs, and guests can enjoy special events like Tasty Tuesday, Electric Thursdaze and Fresh Fridays with drink specials and fun events.

The Phoenix is a short drive west from the Strip, and it’s easy to find. You won’t have any problems spotting the building since it’s painted with a colorful mural of a phoenix rising out of the flames. The crowd here is diverse, with the inexpensive drinks, cheap (but good) bar food and frequent entertainment drawing a wide audience. Video games and video gambling, darts, dancing and a steady line-up of special events keep things interesting at this gay bar. Show up on Underwear Party night and if you’re willing to hang out in your undies, you’ll get an all-you-can-drink deal for $5.

Pool parties and clubs are some of the Strip’s most popular places to hang out, which completely makes sense if you’ve been to Las Vegas in the summer. Temptation Sundays at the Luxor brings the only gay pool party to the Strip. The Luxor pyramid serves as a backdrop for fun in the sun, with music and Go-Go Boys to make it a real party. A line-up of guest DJs are featured at Temptation Sundays, so you’ll want to check ahead to see who’s scheduled on the day you’re planning to visit. For the full pool party experience, rent a cabana, which comes with water and juice, four padded lounge chairs, flat-screen, premium sports package and towels. Guest must be 21+. Seasons run from about May to September.

It’s conveniently located close to the Strip, UNLV and the Paradise Fruit Loop district. The assortment of drink specials (plus food) make The Garage a bargain compared to what you’d spend on the Strip, plus the friendly neighborhood vibe offers a more laid-back atmosphere than what you’ll find at many Las Vegas bars.
