Upmarket Turkey specialist ceases trading

Upmarket Turkey specialist Fairlight Jones has ceased trading, two-and-a-half years after launching.

The operator sold boutique hotels and private villas with concierge services in coastal Turkey.

A message on the company website said it was ‘with great sadness’ the operator has ceased trading, adding: “We are desolate.”

Fairlight Jones was set up in February 2017 by Andrew Lee, former boss of collapsed operator Exclusive Escapes, which ceased trading in August 2015.

The company was mainly a direct-sell operation, but it did sell some holidays via travel agencies. In addition to its main Turkey programme, the operator also had a small portfolio in Greece.

Bookings are being taken over by Discerning Collection, owned by Nick Wrightman.

He said: “Fairlight Jones was our direct rival, but we are working hard to protect all those guests that booked with the company.”

At the time of launch, Lee said Turkey would be ‘the cornerstone’ of the company’s offering, but it planned to add other destinations that fitted with the company’s ethos.
