Ryanair flights disappear from Expedia after two settle lawsuits

Expedia appears to have stopped selling Ryanair flights after the two parties settled lawsuits in both the US and in Ireland.
Ryanair started legal proceedings against the online travel agent more than two years ago, accusing Expedia of illegally capturing flight details from its website and selling flights at a mark-up.
However, the lawsuit was finally settled in Washington state in mid August, according to Skift.
Expedia Group spokesperson Sarah Waffle Gavin confirmed to the publication on Tuesday that the Irish action was part of the settlement and is also in the process of being dismissed.
Details of the settlement have not been revealed, but it appears that Expedia’s websites don’t now feature Ryanair flights.
Ryanair had claimed the screen-scraping violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act by infringing copyright and increasing customer costs, although Expedia argued that in the US the law doesn’t cover foreign airlines.
